To expand on our letters with toddlers, we will be adopting a letter each week as a class. We’re not sure if you’ve noticed the kid’s work on display, but the toddler program added a “Letter of the Week” posterboard right next to our “Word of the Day” listing. Last week we introduced the letter “A” and this week we’re exploring the letter “B”. It’s rewarding to see young children engage (pointing and sounding each letter) and find enjoyment over the topic during lunch and table activities.
Each day we talk about words that start with the particular letter of the week. We’ll typically tie the letter of the week to our monthly theme. Last week we posted a photo of an “A for Alligator,” “A for Apple,” and tied “A for America, Antarctica, Africa” etc., to the letter as well.
We’ll post letters each week (in no particular order), and encourage families to continue reinforcing the letter of the week at home.
Thank you, Mr. Harry
